Sharing and learning through We-Chat:

  Subject- English of class IV with 12 students in the class.

                                                               

 ICT integrated teaching and learning can be very meaningful and effective. It makes learners more active and participatory in their own learning as well as their boredom is being eradicated. Indeed it is a very ideal method where learners are immensely engaged in the learning activities.

                           

On 1^st October 2019, I have taught English for class IV. The ICT based teaching aids used for the lesson were projector, sound box, tabs, cell phone, I-pads, desktops, laptops, and microphone. The soul ICT focused here was how to create and share learning and learning materials through we-chat. For the same I have let students create we-chat by watching video and also by helping them personally.

After creating we-chat group, I started posting reading materials as well as extended activities. This is what students are to share about we-chat and learning through it.

My observation- Since a few students have such facilities at their home, they are availing this facilities and doing well. But for most of them though their parents are having smart phones but they are still not allowing their kids to browse and use net, maybe economic reason and so on.

           

So, in the school itself, I arrange phones, laptops, desktops, tabs and I-pad (Mine) and I let them use we-chat for sharing and learning though its bit tiresome and having time management problems for both the teacher and students.

But despite our hard work and time, I find letting students use we-chat and learn is very effective than other electronic gadgets or ICT tools provided we arrange them with the facilities by our-self.
